The Business Development Manager - V-22 seeks out and develops new business opportunities for Bell Helicopter/Textron while acting as a subject matter expert for V-22, both internally to Bell Helicopter and externally to industry partners, US Government partners and foreign government officials.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development, engagement and shaping of new US and foreign military business opportunities for Bell Helicopter, specifically on V-22 product lines, with a laser focus on Readiness, current fleet interface, essential upgrades, user feedback, and the capture of a max quantity, level-loaded MY III V-22 contract that drives best value and affordability for both US and international FMS partners.
2. Participate in Campaign Teams responsible for capture of new business: a. Develop responses to US Government (USG) Requests for Information (RFI's). b. Lead Cross-Functional proposal teams through the acquisition process. c. Develop Win-Strategies, Price to Win, Risk Analysis/Mitigation Plans, Partnering Strategies. d. Develop and lead gate reviews for assigned pursuits/opportunities.
e. Act as the V-22 Subject Matter Expert for aircraft performance, sustainment, readiness, and maintenance.
3. Manage Customer Relationships with key DoD customers: a. Develop and execute executive engagement plan at all levels of DoD. b. Shape requirements for USG that align with Bell Products and Services. c. Own key military strategies/messages and One Voice for customers and Bell/Textron executives.
4. Interface with USG Programs/Customer Service Support (CSS) /Engineering/Industrial Operations/Commercial Sales and Marketing leadership within Bell Helicopter.
5. Interface with Washington DC, Textron Office on Corporate Strategies, DoD Budgets, QDR, Pentagon, TRADOC, Theater Commands and Congressional visits.
6. Represent Bell at key trade shows and events (domestically and internationally as needed), to continue to promote the Bell brand and Bell products and services; supporting Bell interests within DoD and with international customers.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree is required. - Master's Degree is preferred.
- Command and Staff College (Resident or Non-Resident; USA, USMC, USN equivalent) is preferred.
Position Requirements:
- 15 years related experience, including at least 500 flight hours of experience as a V-22 Pilot is required.
- Business Development, Marketing & Sales or Program Management experience is preferred.
- DoD Decision Support Systems including, the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System, the Defense Acquisition System, and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) Process experience is preferred.
- Candidate must be a results-oriented professional with strong strategic planning skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
- Doctrinal and requirements developer experience is preferred.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- USMC, USN, or USA staff experience at the Regimental level or higher and/or Joint Staff experience is preferred.
