Responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing optimal long-term and high-dollar procurement contracts that enable a commodity team to achieve its strategic objectives. Such contracts represent the outgrowth of a defined commodity strategy, and the Supply Chain Contracts Professional works directly with the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Supply Chain Analyst to design and manage a contracting approach that will place a large majority of commodity spend on LTC with a rationalized supply base that delivers superior cost and availability.
Primary activities of the Supply Chain Contracts Professional include evaluating current and existing suppliers for fit with strategic purchasing contracts, preparing and issuing requests for proposal (RFPs), and facilitating the bid evaluation and down-selection process.
The Supply Chain Contracts Professional also prepares negotiation strategies and conducts contract negotiations, employing cost scenario models, contracting strategy techniques, and negotiation support tools to advance the commodity’s key supply chain objectives, and finalizes contract awards. In all activities, the Supply Chain Contracts Professional ensures compliance with all government contracting regulations and internal administrative requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA in Supply Chain Mgmt, Business Administration, Industrial Technology/Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related discipline)
At least 2 years relevant professional experience to include strategic sourcing strategy and techniques, financial analysis, cost analysis of commodity, raw materials, etc.
Experience and understanding of direct/indirect commodity pricing
Strong computer and analytical skills
Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
Strong business acumen
Preferred:
Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supplier and commodity Mgmt, supplier relationships, Contracts, Supply Chain Mgmt, Supplier Development and total cost of ownership
Green Belt Six Sigma certification
Experience applying Six Sigma Lean Principles and Tools
