Assistant General Counsel - Patent Attorney

The Assistant General Counsel - Patent Attorney reports directly to the Bell Helicopter Deputy General Counsel – Intellectual Property. This position is located at Bell Helicopter's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX.
Position Responsibilities:

Work closely with program managers and engineers to identify inventions, conduct patent searches, and provide intellectual property guidance.

Prepare and prosecute patent applications in-house.

Participate in Bell’s Patent Committee.

Develop and deliver intellectual property training to company personnel.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Concentration in Aerospace, Software, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited Law School is required.
Position Requirements:
- Applicant must be licensed to practice before the USPTO AND in at least one US state.
- Applicant must be comfortable working with teammates in a collaborative environment.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with Bell Helicopter engineers at a highly technical level and also with non-technical colleagues across all levels of the business.
- Must be able to manage multiple assignments in a timely manner.
- Must be able to deliver superior work product with minimal supervision.
