The Training Manager position exists to Develop and Manage all areas of training at our manufacturing plant. Included in this function is the evaluation of plant training needs, development of training programs that meet those needs, train as appropriate, develop, monitor and manage the training records system, manage the training center, prepare an annual training budget, and prepare a multi year plan for training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage a continual and systematic process to identify the development needs for Plant employees
• Partner with managers and supervisors to identify and leverage training and development programs, systems and tools that best meet the expressed needs
• Update, or oversee updates to, existing training & development programs and design and produce new instructional materials using a variety of instructional design techniques and delivery media, including self-paced and computer/web-based per the prioritized development schedule
• Monitor and assure there is successful application of training to specific work/performance objectives and measure results as possible
• Measure training effectiveness against predetermined learning and performance objectives
• Develop testing and evaluation procedures to ensure effective learning results
• Develop robust reporting and access to training records for all levels of stakeholders
• Provide regular communications regarding training program/project status to learners, managers, leadership and project stakeholders via email, project status meetings
• Proactively troubleshoots potential issues and recommends solutions
• Serve as point of contact for training related requests and projects
• Develop and conduct supervisory training
• Develop a computer based operator testing program
• Update and Develop Standard Operating Procedures for all processes throughout the facility
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status
• Must have experience with the following Microsoft programs: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
Other Qualifications:
• Communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must have a Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years of related work experience
• Organization, follow-up, and attention to detail
• Previous experience with instructional design and training rollouts
• Previous experience preparing an annual budget is preferred
• Previous experience with web content contribution, online course design software, other audio / visual programs and software is preferred
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred
