Project Engineer III - MQ-8C Fire Scout Program

The Project Engineer III on the Firescout program plans, organizes and manages technical projects from conception to completion to support Fire Scout program goals and objectives.  This is a Fort Worth, TX-based position.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversee/manage MQ-8C Fire Scout projects as required to support program needs
  • Coordinate with external teams including prime contractor, military customer, commercial programs, and suppliers
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Engineering, Logistics, Contracts, Finance, and Program Management
  • Work with engineering SMEs to address emerging issues, develop risk mitigation plans, and execute recovery actions.
  • Create project plans, determine required deliverables, find and assign resources to execute tasks.
  • Manage and control quality, tests requirements, risks and contingency plans, budget, deliverables, project changes.
  • Monitor project progress and report project performance status (cost and schedule earned values)
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in  Engineering - or related technical discipline - is required.
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in relevant or related are is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to develop and manage schedules and budgets in compliance with earned value management system (EVMS) requirements
  • Must have experience working effectively across organizations in a customer facing role
  • Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent foresight and communication skills  
 
Preferred:
  • Expertise in military configuration management, familiarity with commercial configuration management
  • Experience in development of Class I ECPs including both production incorporation, retrofit, and support planning
  • Expertise in developing and managing military proposals including work descriptions and estimates
  • Experience working with government contracts
  • Understanding of government rights in commercial technical data, particularly DFARS exceptions pertaining to maintenance, operation, installation, and training
  • Highly knowledgeable in working with suppliers, development of supplier statements of work and specifications
  • Experience working with suppliers to meet or deliver ahead of schedule
