External Loads Engineer

 

• Responsible for the development of air vehicle dynamic and static load conditions and values.
• Reviews flight test data of previous aircraft to establish an external loads data base for which parametric loads and loads conditions can be developed.
• Build and execute GTR simulations of loads conditions to generated aircraft body forces and inertial loads.
• Coordinate with design IPTs, Internal Loads, Dynamics, Weights, Handling Qualities and Aerodynamics to ensure GTR model and loads cases are consistent and applicable to aircraft design and intended usage.
• Maintain up to date external loads and simulation models
• Prepare and maintain the aircraft Structural Design Criteria.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.

• Multiple labor grades will be consider for this opportunity:
  • Eng II - Minimum of 4 years experience or 3 years a Master’s degree
  • Eng III – Minimum of 8 years experience or 7 years with a Master’s degree
  • Eng IV – Minimum of 12 years experience or 11 years with a Master’s degree
• Demonstrated experience in external loads, test and verification.
• Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision
• Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments
• Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and have the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Previous experience in Flight Sciences (loads, dynamics, aerodynamics, handling qualities ) is required.
• Familiarity in GTR, CAFTA, Enovia; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
