The External Loads Engineer is responsible for the development of the externally applied loads to the air vehicle. This position is located at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of air vehicle dynamic and static load conditions and values.
Reviews flight test data of previous aircraft to establish an external loads data base for which parametric loads and loads conditions can be developed.
Build and execute GTR simulations of loads conditions to generated aircraft body forces and inertial loads.
Coordinate with design IPTs, Internal Loads, Dynamics, Weights, Handling Qualities and Aerodynamics to ensure GTR model and loads cases are consistent and applicable to aircraft design and intended usage.
Maintain up to date external loads and simulation models
Prepare and maintain the aircraft Structural Design Criteria.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering is required.
Master’s Degree is preferred.
Position Requirements:
Multiple labor grades will be consider for this opportunity:
Eng II - Minimum of 4 years experience or 3 years a Master’s degree
Eng III – Minimum of 8 years experience or 7 years with a Master’s degree
Eng IV – Minimum of 12 years experience or 11 years with a Master’s degree
Demonstrated experience in external loads, test and verification.
Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision
Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments
Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and have the ability to work effectively within a team.
Previous experience in Flight Sciences (loads, dynamics, aerodynamics, handling qualities ) is required.
Familiarity in GTR, CAFTA, Enovia; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
