The Airframe Design Engineer is responsible for design activities related to the preparation, conversion, and release of engineering data on Bell Helicopter’s V-22 Program. Also, this position has responsibilities for compliance to the DRM, Airframe Design Manual, Best Practices, Customer Specifications, Military Standards, Bell Helicopter procedures, Program Directives, and annual CRC requirements. This position is based at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create detail, assembly, and installation airframe drawings - Assignments will involve detail design under the supervision of a lead engineer. Assist in researching pertinent data and developing solutions for the project or assignment. - Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing or specialty personnel to resolve problems. - Specific tasks include responding to data/action requests from procurement, manufacturing, tooling, etc. - Typical tasks include change requests, and change order preparation, drawing maintenance, and support of the development of new designs and product changes and improvements.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering discipline - is required.
Position Requirements:
At least 4 years aerospace structural design experience
Must be proficient in CATIA V4/V5/V6 CAD processes.
Familiarity with MRP, Planning, Manufacturing and Procurement processes required.
Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate design activities and report status to design leads.
Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete design tasks.
Familiarity with Aerospace Structural Design, BHTI Drawing Content and Release procedure including DRM and BEIMS, LETAR/SIAR’s preferred.
