The Reliability & Maintainability Engineer is responsible for developing, managing and communicating the reliability & maintainability methodology for a new military development program to internal and external customers. This position is based at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.
Positioning Responsibilities:
Develop and communicate R&M approach and methodology to management.
Determine System level R&M targets and work with IPTs to develop IPT level targets.
Work closely with IPTs to review evolving design and provide Design-For-R&M input into their decisions, providing R&M impacts to all Design Decision Notices.
Track designs and develop R&M estimates based on preliminary and detail design layouts.
Suggest design improvements / spiral opportunities to improve R&M.
Coordinate and manage the execution of system level FMECAs
Coordinate across design, logistics and maintenance teams to ensure a robust aircraft sustainment plan is established.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering is required.
Masters Degree is preferred.
Position Requirements:
10 years aerospace engineering experience is preferred.
Previous Military Logistics or Maintenance experience is preferred.
Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate R&M activities, prioritize tasks, and report status.
Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.
Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements develop and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes is preferred.
PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
Must have the ability to work effectively within a team.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
