Business Development Manager - Competitive Intelligence/Price To Win
The Business Development Manager - Competitive Intelligence/Price To Win Strategies will seek out and assist in developing new business opportunities for Bell Helicopter/Textron by integrating business and competitive intelligence into win strategies, including Price To Win. Specifically, that development will be done by analyzing the current competitors' situation and anticipating changes, evaluating novel opportunities related to new technology, providing up-to-date accurate competitive intelligence and reliable analysis, and making strategic inputs to assist top management decisions and reviews. Opportunities are available in multiple labor grades, based on proficiency, experience and education. This position is located at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and shape new US and foreign military business opportunities for Bell Helicopter, specifically providing in-depth price-to-win and competitive intelligence solutions with a focus on large, complex U.S. Department of defense programs.
Research, create and analyze data from secondary research sources including product performance manuals, social media, Defense & Aerospace Competitive Intelligence Service (DACIS), trade journals, analyst reports, etc.
Develop a detailed analysis to predict competitors pricing to formulate a PTW strategy based on competitor knowledge gained through CI and Competitive Analysis (CA) activities.
Translate technical details of complex market dynamics and competitors into consumable and actionable intelligence for executive, senior and program level staff.
Facilitate consistent, organization-wide sharing of knowledge (through written reports, charts and graphs, electronic business intelligence support tools, and oral and visual presentations, etc.) on the competition, market trends, and various findings.
Establish, organize, and continuously update a database of competitor products and research for access by leadership.
Develop a broad and deep understanding of Bell & competitor product capability in order to inform strategies and business planning processes that will aide in the development of new vertical lift concepts based on perceived and identified user requirements.
Maintain awareness of potential sales opportunities and develop the strategy for Bell products to compete and win by attending user industry days, bidders’ conferences, and evaluating Federal Business Opportunities postings.
Support Bell Helicopter Campaign Teams.
Serve as a resource to all levels of management for questions about competitor / pricing data.
Conduct problem solving to develop and structure a pitch deck for sales or other special analysis project.
Develop Win-Strategies, Price to Win, Risk Analysis/Mitigation Plans, and Partnering Strategies.
Work in development of gate reviews for assigned pursuits/opportunities.
Fill the role as the Competitive Assessment and Price-to-Win Subject Matter Expert for a specific product opportunity as assigned.
Develop and articulate Price-To-Win, price strategy, risk mitigation, and competitive landscape dialogue with Capture Team Leads and senior leadership providing sound recommendations for capture and delivery.
Work with Bell Finance to use cost modeling tools that effectively capture key information that leads to devising and recommending bidding strategies and Price-To-Win. recommendations to effectively compete against competitor’s predicted proposed pricing
Interface with USG Programs/Customer Service Support (CSS) /Engineering/Industrial Operations/Commercial Sales and Marketing leadership within Bell Helicopter.
Interface with Washington DC, Textron Office to aide in the development of GMBD Corporate Strategies as they pertain to DoD Budgets, QDR, Pentagon & TRADOC priorities, Theater Commands requirements and objectives.
Network and conduct industry/client interaction on new like products to keep up-to-date on trends and cycles affecting new business development.
Provide training and develop reference materials for BD team and others as directed on CI and PTW resources and techniques.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business - or related field - is required. - Master's Degree is preferred.
Position Requirements:
·Experience in Business Development, Communications, Marketing & Sales, intelligence gathering or Project Management is preferred.

oFor Level IV labor grade, requires minimum 10 years experience in aerospace industry and in-depth understanding of military subject matter and experience in competitive analysis.
oFor Level III labor grade, requires minimum 5 years industry experience and subject matter expertise in competitive analysis.
oFor Level II labor grade, requires minimum 2 years industry experience and subject matter expertise in competitive analysis.
·Experience in Competitive Intelligence and Price to Win strategies is preferred.
·Understanding of vertical-lift aircraft/missions and/or aviation support/service is preferred.
·Experience leading cross-functional teams and comfort with executive level presentations.
·Candidate must be a results-oriented professional with strong strategic planning skills and team-minded perspective.
·Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
·Analytical experience is required.
· Understanding of rotorcraft products with sales-minded focus is required.
·Must have the ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities equally well.
