Business Development Director

The Commercial Business Development Director oversees the development and execution of the commercial business development strategy for Bell Helicopter for both international and domestic customers including foreign military sales. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct and lead all activities associated with major strategic campaigns for the procurement of commercial aircraft and service.   The majority of these campaigns will be international and will require a wide range of leadership skills to manage technical requirements, complex business arrangements, offset agreements, etc.
  • Direct interaction with high-level customers is required to develop winning strategy from a technical, business, and sales standpoint.
  • Work directly with Sales Directors and in-country Independent Representatives in shaping and implementing strategies for campaigns with values ranging from $100M – $1.5B.
  • Direct and lead the internal campaign process to include technical, contractual, and overall business structure compliance. Ensure that the overall campaign strategy is implemented.
  • Required to develop and present strategies to senior management including Executive Leadership Team members on the campaign status, strategy, and general overview information.
  • Lead development on international Joint Ventures, Memorandum of Understanding strategic alliances in key markets and emerging economies to reach key accounts with a localized solution.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing Directors to develop regional specific business development plans for product upgrades, support/service offerings, business affiliations, trade-in strategies, etc. 
  • Attend trade shows/events on behalf of General Manager Commercial Business Development/VP Sales & Marketing to develop relationships that will strengthen product and business strategies.

  • BS degree technical/ business (MS preferred)
  • 10 or more years of background in Aerospace specifications, tender process, business development activities preferred
  • Proven Program Management skills
  • International work experience
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written English language skills
  • Ability to present at different levels of organization
  • Experience in industrial collaboration/joint ventures
  • Experience with BHTI proposal process, product knowledge, service knowledge preferred
