Position Description: Develop fatigue test requirements for metallic and composite PSE testing and conduct fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
Fatigue and Fracture Analysis ENG III responsibilities:
· Develop fatigue test loads in accordance with certification requirements for metallic and composite fatigue testing of aircraft dynamic components
· Perform fatigue initiation and crack growth analyses to establish metallic component retirement times and inspection intervals
· Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analyses to establish composite component replacement times and inspection intervals
· Interface with structural analysis and design organizations, materials & processes, structural test laboratories, flight test, manufacturing and civil certification authorities
· Write and review technical reports
· Work within schedules and budgets, and generate and validate project estimates as defined by the team leader
Education: BS Mechanical or Aerospace or closely related Engineering discipline. MS preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in structural mechanics, fatigue and/or fracture mechanics
A successful candidate will have experience using analytical software tools such as FLASH, CAFTA, AFGROW or other related software.
