Position Overview
The Trade Classification Specialist I works across multiple
organizations, including operations, sales operations, support, engineering and
product management.
- Examine engineering drawings, schematics,
diagrams, and other technical source materials within a controlled environment
for the purposes of making jurisdictional determinations;
- Classify routine Bell Helicopter products and
technologies, documenting the classification analysis performed, and referring
ad hoc export compliance issues to Specialist II;
- Apply basic principles and concepts associated
with U.S. export laws and regulations to accurately assign an export
classification;
- Execute job responsibilities under direct
guidance of a Specialist II or III
- Attend and observe program meetings in
conjunction with Specialist II or III
- Ensure the highest level of accuracy is achieved
and maintained with regard to assigned export classification tasks; and
- Maintain a positive work environment and
actively cooperate with internal and external customers

Bachelor's (4 year)
degree
Zero to two (0-2) years experience related to import/export compliance,
logistics, aerospace or supply chain
- Demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to understand and apply technical and regulatory concepts
- Awareness of and interest in keeping informed of on-going changes affecting
U.S. export control laws and regulations
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
Preferred:
- Experience classifying items under the Export Administration Regulations
(EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, CATIA, BEDVUe, SharePoint and
ENOVIA
