Responsibilities:
Perform metallic materials laboratory testing tasks such as:
• Sectioning metallic components & preparing metallurgical mounts
• Operating laboratory equipment such as:
• Analysis Equipment: Hardness Testers, Spectrograph, X-ray Fluorescence, Gas
• Analyzer, X-ray Diffraction, Tensile Testing, Digital & Optical Microscopes
• Preparation Equipment: Electro-Discharge Machining (EDM), band saw, grinders, sanders, cut-off wheels, sand blaster, polisher, metallurgical mounting presses
• Chemical analysis and titrations
• Perform thermal equipment temperature surveys & pyrometry tasks
• Generate technical laboratory reports
• Statistical analysis of data
Education/Experience:
• Associate Degree in Science or Technology or commensurate education; Previous work experience and on the job training will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Demonstrate mechanical abilities
• Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Preferred:
• Knowledge & experience with materials testing requirements
THIS POSITION IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION (3:30 pm - Midnight). Initial training will take place during first shift prior to transferring to 2nd shift.
