This position is for Lead/Sr Developer â Business Center (Service aspects) Enterprise application. This position will report under Sr. Manager of IT
eBiz is a preferred touch point online portal for AT&Tâs business customers. eBiz delivers ONE effortless experience by customer pull - incenting, capturing and converting offline behavior to digital volumes and values. This portal uses cutting edge digital technologies and processes â productized APIs, software-as-service, infrastructure-as-service, mobile (adaptive design), big data, micro-services, agile etc.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects within the portfolio with cross functional teams and business processes.
- Develop accurate level of effort estimates, and manage task schedules.
- Excellent communication skills that can be used to effectively communicate technical concepts to business teams.
- Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide performance improvements, and better user experiences.
- Provide direction and mentoring to junior developers.
- Interact well with other technical team leaders such as architects, testing, analysts, and release managers as a lead member of the development team in order to accomplish the business goal.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge in multiple technical and business functional areas as well as performing a larger leadership role in the organization.
- Apply broad in-depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priorities.
- Resolve and work on issues across multiple functional areas.
- Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decide on issues requiring escalation.
- Incumbents understand the system flow for a project throughout an entire functional area (e.g. Billing, Customer Care) not just a subsystem area.
- In addition, candidate must have a thirst for knowledge and emerging web technologies to define strategies and design architectures for the future success of eBiz.
Desired Qualifications
- 6 years of hands-on J2EE and Java, JSP, JS programming experience.
- 8 years of architecting web applications using JEE. Experience delivering 24x7, high volume web applications in clustered and multi-tier environments, with strong understanding of robust threading, pooling, connection, and transaction management.
- Strong grasp of SOA frameworks
- Strong understanding of JSP, AJAX, XML, XSLT and basic UI
- Strong object oriented design and design patterns experience
- Strong understanding of Agile processes and methodologies
- Experienced with relational database SQL
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and production diagnostic skills.
- Experience w/ Java Application Servers, preferably Web Logic Server
- Strong experience with SOAP, Web Services and micro-services
- Experience applying data modeling using big data and/or large volume of data technologies is a huge plus
- Industry experience in Telecom/Wireless is nice to have
- BS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Engineering or equivalent technical degree required
