Electrical Engineering opportunities are available in the development, integration, and testing of Avionics and Electrical Systems. Seeking an experienced candidate with a solid background in avionics hardware development and integration. A well-rounded EE background that includes experience in software development and System Integration Lab activity is a plus. This position is located at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth headquarters facility.
The Avionics & Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
Design and test of Avionics & Electrical Systems with integration of complex software and hardware, including Electrical Power Generation and Distribution Systems, Integrated Avionics Systems and Displays, Communication and Navigation Systems, Mission Equipment Integration, Sensors and Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems
Knowledge of E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) and component level design in EMC/EMI fields to include bonding, grounding, shielding, lightning protection and HIRF
Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution and protection schemes, including energy storage devices
Preparation of electrical budget analysis (ELA) for generator operation and power reserve (battery)
Knowledge of Avionics, navigation, control and communication systems
Knowledge of data telemetry systems for remote control and monitoring
Knowledge of ARINC 400 series, 600 series, 700 series and 800 series
Knowledge of FAA FAR Part 27 and 29, or equivalent TCCA and/or EASA certification standards
Experience with System and software design is a plus, including requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing in desktop simulation environment and systems integration labs, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification is strongly desired.
Experience with System Integration Lab activity is a plus, including design, build, and test of Systems Integration Labs, software, and hardware-in-the-loop testing of Flight Control, Avionics, Electrical, and Actuation Systems including Fly-By-Wire Flight Control Systems.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
· Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering is preferred.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be considered.
- Master’s Degree in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred.

- At least 4 years experience directly related to the responsibilities of this position.
- Experience with avionics/electrical systems development, integration and test.
- Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems
