Materials Management Manager

Bell Helicopter - Fort Worth, Texas

This individual contributor position will provide overall leadership of materials flow and schedule execution in support of manufacturing.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Manages $20M Production Control Budget
• Manages Global Material Management Headcount to AOP targets
• Manages Global Materials Management Training / Skill Matrix, Progression, Budget
• Leads optimization of materials management activities including coordination with scheduling and purchasing materials movement and indirect materials management
• Directs processes for monitoring and reporting for materials planning and inventory control (i.e. open orders, delivery schedules, on-time and quality/claims).
• Balances raw material and finished goods inventory levels with established targets and within defined customer parameters and commitments
• Leads periodic review of E/O inventory of all raw materials to identify aged product, original use/requirement, potential uses and make recommendations for write downs/dispositions.
• Backfills material manager role in absence of scheduler for planned and unplanned time off.
• Develops, implements, and manages cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material, and associated cost elements.
• Defines & communicates Dispatching Process Communization to all levels of the organization
• Solves all complex issues which may arise in materials flow that would interfere with manufacturing schedules
• Manages short, medium, and long lead material availability and planning, making adjustments, when necessary, to ensure schedule is met
• Develops and implements Project / Process Improvements & Prioritization in collaboration with IE
• Creates standardization/communization scheduling procedures across Bell Helicopter
• Manages Fulfillment across the Bell Helicopter Enterprise
• Analyzes Shortage /Held and reporting to high level management across the enterprise
• Negotiates proposed solutions/settlements to union grievances on behalf of Production Control and Logistics organization.
• Consultant to Labor Relations for 218 and 317 union relations and negotiations, including taking the lead on Union contingency planning
• Leads the following Bell Enterprise initiatives: Material Handling Equipment and Material Handling Capital Equipment Planning and Total Inventory Reduction
• Leads Materials Handling Council, the Scheduling Council, PC&L Safety, Quality Council and Engagement Council

Stable Build Schedule
Deliver to MPS/MRP/AOP Plan ($340 M Commercial, $190 M Military)
Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in related field required, Masters preferred.
 
Skills/Experience
10 years related experience
Works well in a team environment, detail oriented, strong Microsoft Suite skills. APIC preferred
2 years experience working in a unionized environment
