Critical Environments Project Manager (Virtual)

Position Summary:

This is a VIRTUAL position. Ideal location is east of the Rocky Mountains, in the Central or Eastern time zones. 

SUMMARY
Accountable 
to manage Critical Environment Project workload in accordance with client and JLL General Services Agreement (GSA).  Project Managers are expected to manage multiple projects in various phases of development in order to meet or exceed established goals including speed, quality and budget.  Primary focus is on the specific needs of the project, client, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders. This position also ensures that project financials are monitored and reported.  The role requires maximum results for the client with no critical incidents.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Professional planning and hands on management/oversight for multiple Switch/Data Center/Base Building critical infrastructure and technology projects.
  • During any 12 month period manage multiple assigned projects from project identification thru design, planning, approval (Municipalities/Client), permit issuance, start of construction to client acceptance and open doors.
  • Effectively manage all Projects taking place within Switch and critical facilities following the critical environment Method of Operating Procedure (MOP) and work order process (PIER) in order to ensure no critical facility incidents.
  • Lead project teams consisting of engineers, general and specialty contractors, property management, environmental consultants, security, telecom, vendors.
  • Draft comprehensive RFQ/RFP for both A&E and Trade/Design Build services.
  • Oversee and prepare accurate required reports including due diligence, meeting minutes, punch lists, financial funding requests, budget status reports, and special reports on time and in accordance with pre-established formats.
  • Demonstrate full accountability of the end-to-end process.
  • Effectively manage to approved capital budget, monitoring on a monthly basis.  Budget will not be exceeded without client approval.
  • Manage vendors and contractors to ensure full compliance with all project policies and procedures, including closeout of all projects following project completion.
  • Ensure that all proper closeout and commissioning procedures are followed including the collection, distribution and storage of all necessary documentation.
  • Submit all project invoices on a timely basis following receipt of the Invoice.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish cycle time improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Responsible for adhering to critical environment guidelines for all process and procedures for critical facilities projects, including work process and authorization, incident management, and routine operations & maintenance process and procedures to maintain 100% uptime.
 
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience working on mid to large commercial infrastructure projects, preferably in project or critical facilities management
  • Previous Construction Project Management experience in Base Building, Critical Environments (Switch and Data Centers), strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Telcordia GR1275, and 1502, NEC, lockout/Tagout, 3M / Hilti fire protection, among others.

  • Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients

  • Flexibility with work hours and travel, as needed
  • Travel may be greater than 75%
