Property Tax Analyst (Valuation & Advisory Services)

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Property Tax Analyst to join our Valuation & Advisory Services team in Dallas, TX.

Our Valuation & Advisory Services platform is part of a global network comprised of experienced, licensed, qualified appraisers who use local insights and their years of expertise to deliver accurate, reliable and prompt valuations. We provide sound advice, no matter the size of a property, complexity of a project, or industry focus. Our professionals offer a full range of expertise, including counsel in financing, due diligence, risk analysis, balance sheet reporting, dispute resolutions and IPO listings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
- 1 – 2 years of related experience (Finance, Analysis, Research)
- Demonstrated understanding of the three traditional valuation approaches to value
- Demonstrated understanding of EXCEL and Word
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally (written and verbal)
EXPECTED PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES
- Prepare Tax Budgets
- Track and file appeals timely
- Review and analyze property for potential appeal opportunities
- Informally negotiate a potential settlement with Assessment officials
- Prepare cases for hearings
- Present cases before Boards of Equalization
- Report results of appeal hearings/informal negotiations to clients
- Make recommendation to clients for further appeal opportunities if warranted
- Market research as required
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Experience as a Property Tax Consultant
- Appraisal or brokerage experience
- Education in valuation of real estate
