Sr. Aircraft Performance Specialist

Bell Helicopter - Fort Worth, Texas

The Sr. Aircraft Performance Specialist will partner with the Sales Support Team, including Independent Representatives (IR), to develop mission profile analysis, payload range analysis, performance specifications, operating cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis, develop new sales support tools, etc. that respond to our unique customers. A specific commercial product will be assigned.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Lead coordination between Engineering and Marketing on: 1) the development of mission profile analysis for specific regions by product model and market segment for Bell products as assigned and 2) on the calculation of required air vehicle performance data (i.e. payload vs range, etc.) using Flight Manuals and respective data charts.
  • Develop and produce the technical information / specifications for world class collateral products and services that differenciate Bell products and services.
  • Develop in-depth product performance comparisons of Bell vs. competitor products.
  • Perform total operating cost and lifecycle cost analysis using the available tools
  • Develop and maintain robust sales support tools allowing to automate performance calculations based on data from Helicopter Flight Manuals
  • Responsible for leading cross functional teams in the analysis and justification of new products, product upgrades and VOC inputs for Commercial Business. 
  • Ensure that all products and services are of the highest quality, technically accurate and legally compliant.
  • Ensure all marketing material, product spec sheets and technical data are current and up to date for each Aircraft model.
  • Measure effectiveness of Programs relative to Key Value Parameter indices developed from Market Requirements & Objectives.
  • Assist Regional Sales Manager with capturing current and future customer requirements and possible aircraft configurations to calculate mission profile analysis to determine product capability in meeting customer needs.
  • Develop Market Requirements & Objectives and gain approval from ELT for new and upgrade products.
  • Develop materials for and lead Customer Advisory Boards for new product development.
  • Execute entry into service strategies for new products.
  • Provide technical support for proposals in response to RFI, RFPs and various solicitations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Program Management, Technology & Innovation (including XWORX), CSS, Sales, Finance, and Corporate Communications.
  • Create and deliver presentations, advice and support to Sales & Marketing leadership, as well as Bell ELT members.
  • Identify market trends, participate in trade shows and interface with public relations.
  • Support the Sales team in Pre-sales situations.  
  • Develop strategic relationships with major customers.
     
Position Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Systems Management or other related fields.
  • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degrees preferred.
  • 10 years’ experience in an Engineering related field.
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships and interact with cross-functional groups (e.g., Sales, Engineering, Proposals, Contracts, CSS, Finance, Visual Communications Center and Communications) to solve business and customer issues in the overall sales process.
  • Requires understanding of the product performance, competitive landscape, strengths, weaknesses, market trends, win/loss analysis
  • Ability to integrate the objectives of regional, market segment and customer experts to implement coordinated product plans.
