Hydraulic Actuation Engineer

The Hydraulic Actuation Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and managing the hydraulic actuation systems required to meet program and customer defined requirements.   This position is located at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and test of servo-hydraulic flight control actuators for fly-by-wire rotorcraft platforms.
  • Design and test hydraulic systems for advanced rotorcraft platforms, including integration of complex software and hardware and system performance analysis. 
  • System design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification.
  • Plans and perform test and verification activities including: functional, environmental qualification, environmental stress screening and production tests.
  • Work closely with IPTs to review evolving design and provide input into their decisions, providing.
  • Perform system level and aircraft level analysis to validate performance requirements.

Education Requirements:

 

-       Bachelor’s Degree is required.  Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics will be considered.

-       Master’s Degree in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred.

 

Position Requirements:

·       At least 10 years experience in airborne hydraulic actuation systems is preferred.

·         Experience with primary flight control actuation, preferably rotorcraft applications, is required.

·         Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate and lead activities, prioritize tasks, and report status.

·         Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.

·         Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements develop and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes is preferred.

·         PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

·         Must have the ability to work effectively within a team.

·         Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
