Intern - Space & Move Management

Position Summary:

JLL is currently seeking candidates to join our Space and Move Management team for an internship. The interns will learn the industry through the lens of JLL’s substantial market share and client interaction. As part of the internship, JLL will provide learning experiences throughout the organization so that each intern truly understands the real estate management routines, process and governance following this experience. From an everyday perspective, the interns will contribute to program and process improvement, support data and analytic management routines, assist with day-to-day responsibilities and carry out tasks for both internal and external clients.
 
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly-organized, able to work well in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, demonstrate clear communication skills, and be motivated to learn – with a deep passion for and interest in Commercial Real Estate as a career.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts space data verification by walking floors and checking actual occupancy against database records (including seat assignments, occupancy, vacancy, room usage, and equipment). Checks accuracy of floor plans against as-built conditions.
  • Provides ongoing support to Space Planning. Activities include: attending space planning meetings, gathering corporate space requirements (programming), using CAD software to perform furniture test fits, tracking meeting room restrictions, and/or conducting utilization studies.
  • Provides ongoing support to Move Management.  Activities include: attending move planning meetings (move kick-off, move requirements gathering, weekly move meetings), posting desk/room labels and other temporary signage; and/or assisting with post move follow up (command center).
  • Perform data entry in the IWMS data base (Manhattan), and working with spreadsheets.
  • Provide other ongoing support for current JLL facilities portfolio
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Current undergraduate or graduate level students in their junior or senior year with a major or concentration in Business, Interior Design, Architecture, Facilities Management, Real Estate, or a strong desire to work in the Commercial Real Estate industry
  • Recent graduates or Veterans with a strong desire to work in the Commercial Real Estate industry, with a degree or equivalent experience in Business, Interior Design, Architecture, Facilities Management, Operations, or Real Estate
  • Corporate and business experience, or equivalent military experience
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Innovation and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent client service mindset and attitude
