PPG Industrial Coatings produces coatings for appliances, agricultural and construction equipment, consumer electronics, automotive parts, residential and commercial construction, wood flooring and many other finished products.

Our powder coatings plant in Gainesville, TX is looking for a dynamic Supply Chain Manager who is responsible for plant S&OP, optimizing results balancing the customer service level, working capital goals and plant level of activity. In order to become successful, and within the first six months, you must learn the technical aspects of supply chain while also learning and understanding the customers, products and production volume. S/he will also have to provide sound oversight, leadership and mentorship to a team of 13 people within the supply chain department, including being a link to customer service and shipping and receiving operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for inventory Management, effectively leading initiatives to optimize inventory with special attention to inventory health, days inventory on hand and stock agreements.
- Direct responsibility for the Operations Planning team providing leadership to drive continuous improvements in Gainesville and across toll-manufacturing locations.
- Direct responsibility for the Distribution Department at Gainesville, including shipping, inventory accuracy and freight/warehousing cost management. The individual will lead physical inventory annually but maintain a strategy to effectively improve inventory accuracy to a defined goal.
- Coordinates new customer launches and new product introductions, including direct relations with sales and technical on timing and assessment into production portfolio to ensure customer demands can be met timely and cost effectively within current structure.
- Manage working capital with specific traceability of RM and Recoverable Assets efforts managing to goal and quarterly report out to business on results and subsequent action plan.
- Ensure optimal procurement of inbound raw materials, reduce costs and increase inventory turnover while meeting customer service goals. Manage all Finished Goods stocking agreement.
- Coordinate information flow at production (Batch ticket generation / Closure, Wits, etc.)
- Interface Customers’ needs across several departments such as Customer Service, Production, Purchasing and Technical.
- Maintain routine interactions with Toll Producers, including reviews of performance, to ensure supply chain as an extension of PPG.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least seven (7) years of experience within a plant/manufacturing supply chain function
- At least three (3) year of supply chain leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Required Qualifications)
- APICS; CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, concepts and strategies
- Experience and knowledge of powder coatings
Skills
- Strong knowledge of SC tools (Forecasting, S&OP, MRP, Production Scheduling, Inventory management, Warehouse management, 3rd party supply management, freight management)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work well and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in the organization
- Excellent computer and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to promote and implement change
