Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer position provides systems engineering support for a Bell Helicopter program, to include requirements development and management, risk management, trade study support, baseline management, proposal and engineering change proposal support, design review support. This position is based at Bell Helicopter’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters facility.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the definition and tracing of design requirements, test data, and performance values associated with engineering and manufacturing development of the aircraft and its subsystems; capable of using ENOVIA to load, export, link, and trace requirements.
  • Develop operational and functional models, apply Model Based Systems Engineering to drive requirements development from operational needs.
  • Analyze requirements and reported specification compliance issues to determine if deviations are necessary; document and record deviations when required.
  • Develop system and subsystem Statements of Work (SOW) and applicable Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRL)
  • Develop system and subsystem Technical Requirement Specifications; perform validation and verification activities; organize, document, and associate compliance findings; test plans, test reports, SDRL artifacts against technical requirements within the ENOVIA PLM tool
  • Develop and report status of Key Performance Parameters (KPP) and Technical Performance Metrics (TPM).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or technical discipline
  • Degree or certification in systems engineering is preferred. Position Requirements:

 

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software.
  • Experience with requirements analysis or product data management tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering, analysis, project management or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Candidate must demonstrate solid communication skills to be able to collaborate and/or exchange complex information with industry and internal professionals across all organizational levels.
  • Candidate should be highly organized and efficient.
  • Some travel may be required – less than 5%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience applying MBSE concepts.
  • Experience with No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler tool.
  • Experience with AGI Systems Toolkit Modeling tool.
  • Familiarity with Program Management practices to include master schedules, earned value management and critical path analysis.
  • Practical and working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and associated markings.
  • Basic understanding of roles, tasks, policies and procedures required to execute the change process, requirements decomposition and allocation, configuration management, contractor/supplier data management (CDRL/SDRL) and product-related data maintained in the ENOVIA and/or DOORS environment(s).
  • Experience with assessment and implementation of risk analysis on programs/projects.
  • Familiarity with development of proposal inputs in support of follow-on contracting activities.
  • Familiarity with the Systems Engineering principles and methods contained in ANSI/EIA-632, ISO_IEC 26702 IEEE Std 1220-2005, ISO_IEC_15288-2008, and MIL-STD-499.
  • Familiarity with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464), industry standards (e.g., RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178), civil regulations (e.g., 14 CFR FAR Part 25, 27, 29, 91, 135), airworthiness and certification standards (e.g. MIL-HDBK-516), military flight operations, and operational tactics, techniques, and procedures.
