Environmental Control Systems Engineer
 
Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Engineer opportunities at Bell Helicopter are available on the V-280 Future Vertical Lift Program.  These positions may be located at Bell Helicopter’s headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX or the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
The ECS Engineer is responsible for:
  • Developing ECS requirements and architecture, including aircraft heating, cooling, defog, air filtration, and oxygen requirements
  • Conducting design and analysis of the ECS and integrating the ECS into the aircraft in coordination with interfacing systems
  • Managing supplier development and qualification efforts
  • System design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification

Education Requirements:

 

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related technical field) is required. 

- Master of Science Degree is preferred.

 

Position Requirements:

 

• Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 2 years specific experience with ECS integration, development, and testing.  At least 5 years experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with model based systems engineering

• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and military and industry standards for ECS design

• Experience with creation of system specifications, requirements traceability, and verification.  Preferred experience with Enovia and DOORS.

• Generation of Qualification and Test plans.

• Experience with ECS development and testing

• Experience with aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance
